Quit Smoking: The Ultimate Life Changer

Every smoker has their own personal reason on quitting smoking. Being known to cause multiple detrimental health conditions, quitting smoking is an ultimate life changer. Whatever the reason may be, the decision to fight off that tobacco cravings are a huge step towards the healthier version of yourself.

To completely break free from smoking is complicated. It is not as easy as it sounds. Almost every smoker will have some symptoms of nicotine withdrawal. Nicotine withdrawal symptoms appear due to your body and brain have to get used to not having nicotine. However, each time you resist a tobacco craving, you’re one step closer to stopping tobacco use for good.

Here are some tips that will help you kick the cigarette habit for good.

  1. Focus on your reason. Each person has a different reason that led to a decision of quitting smoking for good. Some may develop fear against a disease that may occur or to protect your loved one from secondhanded smoke. Focus on that reason and think about why you should stop smoking.
  2. Nicotine replacement therapy (NRT). It is medicine that can double your chances of quitting by decreasing cravings and withdrawal symptoms. Consider it and discuss with your doctor on how it works.
  3. Avoid trigger. There’s a lot of reason that triggers you to smoke. Identify the things that make you want to smoke, including specific situations, activities, feelings, and people. It is one of the crucial steps you can do to help yourself quit.
  4. Remove any tobacco product around. This is as important as the decision to quit smoking. This should be the first crucial step. It is started with removing any tobacco product from your house, car or your bag.
  5. Talk to your doctor. Help from the medical practitioner is always available. They can help you plan it properly on how to successfully quit smoking, discuss on what type of nicotine replacement therapy that is suitable for you and offer support that you need.
  6. Get support from your loved one. Tell your friends and family about your quit smoking plan and let them know how they can support you. It is their support that will help you to go through it successfully.

The bottom-line, long-term exposure to cigarettes smoking directly affect the stem cell quality in your body. It accelerates degeneration of stem cell. Thus, as soon as you quit, your body begins to repair the damage caused by smoking.
